5 Rawther Cavalry Generals, who defined Rawther community generosity

 1. Muttal Rawther

Muttal Rawther defented pandian kingdom with veera pandyan (Son of kualshekara pandyan, who favoured rawther horse traders and established first Rawther cavalry wing in royal army) He died while protecting madhurai royal temple. 

2. Rawther Kumara Swami

Protected vellalar people from invaders.

3. Ramanad Rawther Chief ( AD 1604)

Defended Ramanad Sethupathi kingdom against potuguse and neighboring nayak invasion. 

4. Rawther Chief of Marthand Varma

when marthanda varma was overthrown by local chiefs, he escaped to pandyan land and request help from maravar / Rawther army. rawthers gave their best fight on the final war on kayamkulam. marthanda varma always favoured rawthers on trade until his Death. rawther cavalry under their great cheif defend ettu veettil pillai's local army and captured them.

 

5. Mughilan (Venad Ruler)

mughilan reached venad with his cavalry to protect rawther traders. after witnessing cast atrocities, he decided to invade the venad to establish lawful rule. During his rule, he forced higher cast and lower cast people to eat from same plate. he allowed everyone to enter temples. when he was resting in his house, nair army cowardly attacked and killed him.
